Bruno Mertens (°1968) is a Belgian contemporary multidisciplinary artist who lives and works in Wondelgem.
Mertens allows the forms to be created freely, without prejudices about what a work should look like. The material and intuition of the moment are his guides. The materials he chooses each have a history. They evoke various associations, which are different for every viewer: a piece of corduroy may remind you of a beloved grandfather, a piece of terry cloth of sun-drenched holidays, a frivolous print of an exuberant party.
