Camilo Bojacá is a young and talented Colombian artist who has carved out a significant position in the local art scene through his multifaceted artwork. His dedicated career showcases a variety of techniques, with drawing and sculpture being predominant.
Landscape is a recurrent element in his work, and Bojacá perceives it as a system of intersecting, overlapping, and interconnected layers. He consistently explores the concept of scale and delves into the relationship between architecture and nature. Furthermore, he’s deeply interested in the interplay and tensions between the conceptual elements and the materials he engages with.
Bojaca’s persistent focus on themes like landscape, nature, architecture, and urbanism has culminated in standout projects such as “Garden of Weeds and Scaffolding.” Through this work, he challenges conventional notions of urban development and its impact on the environment. He advocates for a symbiotic approach where built structures and nature coexist harmoniously. Whether it’s through his delicate pencil sketches, graphite lead-made scaffolding, or cement sculptures infused with organic elements like plants and wood, Bojaca beckons us to re-evaluate our relationship with the world we inhabit.
